Quickform Tutorial

Posted on 18 August 2003 by Demian Turner

In case you’ve been in a cave for the last few years … (just kidding) If you still haven’t heard of PEAR’s Quickform package, now is a good a time as any to take a crack at OO form building.

What advantage is there in using an OO style to attack what is probably the biggest part of the web problem – forms?  Find out what keeps the pear-dev and pear-general mailing lists buzzing on a regular basis :-)

Thanks to Keith Edmunds for his efforts that have resulted in a very approachable tutorial on Quickform.  The learning curve required to be able to deal with the myriad of problems resulting from basic form complexity has kept some developers away from  persevering with the package.  Feature lists grew, but aside from the usage examples included in the package, no good tutorials were available until now.
