Hi Keith

thanks for pointing this out, I thought this site had been targetted for some reason. Good luck convincing your colleague of the attackers\' genius ;-)

cheers

The non-profit organization I work for has been receiving emails exactly like yours, only with our organization\'s info. Putting a password on a zip file and then giving the password to the recipient is pure genius though, and if you don\'t think it is, then tell that to someone I work with that followed the steps and ran the program in the zip file.

Hi Harry

Interesting, that would be highly annoying if a virus was able to go through personal databases, etc, I will run a virus checker on my machines to be sure.

However the template used by the spammer doesn\'t resemble anything I have, iow I don\'t have any code/etc that refers to \'the PHPkitchen team\', which makes me think the message was hand-crafted.

cheers

You're onto a story there. Was reading up on MyDoom (and the same applies to it's variants I believe) and one of the things it does, once it get's itself install, is scan PHP scripts for email addresses.
Personally I've been getting (bogus) messages from Adam Tractenberg, Luis Argerich, various names @ php.net and names that turn up in PHP projects on Sourceforge.
Clever stuff...
