PHP CMS/Framework Resources

Posted on 02 August 2004 by Demian Turner

A short while back I wrote proposing to review a number of CMS/frameworks, and tried to solicit ideas on how to fairly rate the various players.

As it turns out, this has been a difficult task, mainly because the many CMS/frameworks out there are developing rapidly and at different rates – it seems silly to try and attribute fixed values to any of them.

There are, however, an increasing number of independent reviews emerging from folks’ experience of the different packages available, so I thought the intention would be better served by trying to group together these links, similar to the relatively popular PEAR links on this site.

With this is mind, check out the PHP framework resource page. And if you bump into any reviews yourself please leave a note in the comments and I’ll try and add it to the list.

We’ve just released the framework/cms we use at Forum One Comunications. It is available at tigris and we have a blog too.

Ampoliros is an ASP framework based on the Carthag library.
It’s originality is that it goes one step deeper than any framework I know, because it’s not made to give content but to make you easy to build your own application and distribute them.
You really got to check the website to know what I’m talking about..
